Holy cow, these guys are awesome. They tore the roof off of the Chicago Short Video and Film Festival last night. My favorites are "Scatterbrained," "Naked," "Le Arthouse Theatre: The Fugitive," and "How Not to Interview," the short done for WorkAustin.com.

Watch out for them to be totally famous some day soon.

Their "magical" method of using the original hems on jeans is actually pretty ghetto: they sort of fold the material up into the jeans, leaving the original hems at the bottom, but also leaving excess material hiding under the hems. If you'd prefer your hems to drape relaxingly over your shoes, this method totally sucks, as it results in stiff hems. I took my jeans to another tailor just to get them fixed! They did a decent job on a blazer of mine though. Total bill for both: $76.

Usually Ethiopian food is the one cuisine that I don't really like, but this was actually quite good. Our waitress was pretty crappy though...she served me hot tea in a friggen glass! How am I supposed to drink hot liquid from a glass?

I'd put this a step above your standard Chinese restaurant, but they don't have brown rice : |

The place is pretty small, so it's more of a take-out place than a place to eat at.

I had some crazy good coconut curry tofu here, but they lose a star for not having brown rice. The back "patio" is more like a charming vine-covered brick hallway with a couple of tables on it.

Wow, this place is amazing! If I had gone to school here, I never would have graduated. We sat on this patio right on the lake and enjoyed a few pitchers of beer while listening to live jazz and watching waterskiers whiz by.

If you aren't a student, you have to fill out a little form and pay a little more for your drinks, but it's all good.

They have a good variety of food here. It's just food - nothing too amazing. The wait staff seemed very indifferent.

Man, they have some good bar food here.

The onion rings are gigantic. It's like eating a delicious steak.

This place is disgustingly awesome. The interior was sparsely decorated, yet warm and tasteful. I had the Lake Superior Whitefish, which featured some very tasty morel mushrooms. My party passed around a bunch of desserts, but the most interesting to me was the Goat Cheese Crepes. This was one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had!

I had the asparagus salad and Halibut. It was pretty good. We also had a cheese plate and a "dessert cheese" plate, which featured some pretty awse goat's cheese with golden raisins. I love their "flights" (four glasses of wine, about 2 oz. each). I had the "express yourself," which was a bit sweet, as promised on the menu.
